Advocacy Morning Workshop: Advocacy for the ELT Professional
Inherent within our roles as educators is advocacy. This TESOL International-provided workshop engages participants to explore, expand, and engage their own advocacy, from the personal to the classroom, to the community and beyond.
As the Director of Advocacy & Public Policy for TESOL International Association, Jeff leads efforts to raise awareness and voices for multilingual learners of English and TESOL professionals. Through this role, he works closely with TESOL's members and affiliates to ensure its diverse voices are amplified and its interests served at all levels - locally, federally, and globally. Jeff has worked with associations and organizations, both within and outside the U.S., that align with and advance TESOL's mission and values for advancing English language teaching. He has served as NAFSA: Association of International Educator's Region VII chair, president and vice president for advocacy on the executive board of EnglishUSA, and has spearheaded efforts with both state and federal agencies in support of English language teachers and multilingual learners of English. Hutcheson holds a master's in TESOL and has completed doctoral coursework in policy and administration.
