The University of Alabama at Birmingham  offers an ESL teacher education program with several options for enhancing your current career or for seeking new opportunities. You can earn a master's degree in ESL or an educational specialist degree in TESOL by taking fully online courses (same cost for in-state and out-of-state). If on a P-12 track, you can receive UAB's Teaching Multilingual Learners graduate certificate. If on an adult learners' track, you can receive UAB's Teaching English as an Additional Language graduate certificate. Alabama teachers will be eligible for ESOL certification (Class AA, A, Alt A) or dual certification – ESL/Spanish or ESL/French.
